John Edgar Colwell Hearne

He then returned to Jamaica, where he worked as a journalist for several years before turning his focus to writing novels.
Hearne is best known for his novel "Voices Under the Window," which was published in 1955 and received critical acclaim for its vivid portrayal of life in Jamaica during the 1950s.
