Taiji Sawada (July 12, 1966 Ichikawa-July 17, 2011 Saipan) a.k.a. Taiji or Sawada Taiji was a Japanese bassist and songwriter.

Genres he performed include Heavy metal, Rock music, Hard rock and Glam metal.

Taiji Sawada was best known as the bassist of the iconic Japanese heavy metal band X Japan from 1985 to 1992. He played a crucial role in the development of the band's sound and style, and co-wrote some of their most memorable songs, including "Kurenai" and "Say Anything".

After leaving X Japan, Taiji went on to form his own bands, Loudness and D.T.R. He also played with other notable Japanese rock acts such as Dead End and Cloud Nine.

In addition to his musical career, Taiji was also an accomplished actor, appearing in several Japanese films and TV dramas. He was known for his striking appearance and charismatic stage presence, which made him a beloved figure among fans of Japanese rock.
