Actually, Umar Sulaiman Al-Ashqar was a Palestinian political leader and intellectual born in Nablus, British Mandate Palestine on October 17, 1930, and died on February 21, 2008, in Amman, Jordan. He was a prominent member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and served as the PLO's representative to Iran and Syria. Al-Ashqar was a strong advocate for Palestinian rights and was known for his intellectual contributions to the Palestinian cause. He wrote several books and articles on Palestine, including "The Palestinian Resistance Movement: Its Political and Economic Factors." He was also a professor of political science and taught at several universities throughout the Arab world.
