Seraphino Antao

Seraphino Antao (October 30, 1937 Mombasa-September 6, 2011 London) was a Kenyan athlete.

Antao was best known for his prowess in middle and long-distance races. He competed in the 1960 and 1964 Summer Olympics, representing Kenya in the 1500m and 5000m events. Additionally, he won several gold medals in the Commonwealth Games and All-Africa Games. Antao was a pioneer in Kenyan athletics and helped pave the way for future generations of Kenyan runners. Despite his success on the track, Antao faced discrimination and racial prejudice throughout his career. He later became a coach and mentored many young athletes in London, where he had settled with his family.

He died caused by cancer.
