Al Jolson (May 26, 1886 Seredžius-October 23, 1950 San Francisco) a.k.a. AL JOLSON, Asa Yoelson, Mr. Al Jolson, Jolie, Albert Jolson or The World's Greatest Entertainer was a Lithuanian singer, comedian and actor. He had three children, Al Jolson Jr., Alicia Jolson and Asa Jolson Jr..

Al Jolson rose to fame in the early 20th century as a vaudeville performer and appeared in Broadway musicals. He is best known for his role in the first sound film, "The Jazz Singer" (1927), which featured him singing the now-famous song, "Mammy." Jolson continued to act in films and on stage throughout his career, and was known for his dynamic and energetic performances.
