Francisco Dantas

Francisco Dantas (September 18, 1911 Kaunas-August 29, 2000 Rio de Janeiro) also known as Franciskus Vladislovas Cepukaitis was a Lithuanian actor.

He emigrated from Lithuania to Brazil in 1921 with his family, and took on the stage name Francisco Dantas after his mother's maiden name. He began his acting career at the Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, eventually appearing in over 60 films and several television programs. Dantas was known for his roles in Brazilian cinema during the 1940s and 1950s, and also appeared in several Italian films during World War II. In addition to acting, he was also a playwright and director, and founded his own theater company in the 1950s. He was awarded a posthumous lifetime achievement award by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema in 2006.

Dantas' career in acting began at the age of 15 when he joined a theater company. He became a renowned actor in Brazil, appearing in important films such as "Maior que o Ódio" and "O Preço da Vitória".
