Franklyn Bellamy

Franklyn Bellamy (March 7, 1886 Kuala Lumpur-November 27, 1961 Bodmin) also known as Harry George Franklyn Bellamy, F. Bellamy or Harry was a Malaysian actor.

Bellamy began his acting career in 1915, appearing in the silent film "East Lynne" and quickly became a popular supporting actor in British films. He went on to appear in over 80 films throughout his career, often playing authoritative figures such as judges, doctors and detectives.

In addition to his film work, Bellamy was also a prolific stage actor, appearing in numerous West End productions, including the original London runs of "Peter Pan" and "The Admirable Crichton."

During World War II, Bellamy worked for the War Office as a script consultant, helping to produce propaganda films for the government. He was also active in the British Actors' Equity Association, serving as its president from 1946 to 1948.

Bellamy retired from acting in 1955 and lived out the rest of his life in Bodmin, Cornwall.
