Salmah Ismail
Salmah Ismail (January 22, 1935 Pasir Panjang-April 25, 1983 Assunta Hospital) also known as Saloma was a Malaysian actor.
She was born in Singapore and started her career in the entertainment industry as a cabaret singer. Saloma eventually transitioned to acting and became a well-known film actress in Malaysia. She starred in over 50 films, many of which were produced by the renowned Malaysian film studio, Shaw Brothers. Saloma was also a talented dancer and performed traditional Malay dances in her films. In addition to her successful career in entertainment, Saloma was also recognized for her charitable work and community involvement. She was married to fellow actor P. Ramlee until his death in 1973. Saloma passed away from a heart attack at the age of 48 and is remembered as a talented and beloved figure in Malaysian cinema.
