Kanang anak Langkau

Kanang anak Langkau (March 2, 1945 Julau-January 3, 2013) was a Malaysian personality.

He was a former member of the Sarawak Communist Organisation (SCO) and a key figure in the Communist insurgency in Sarawak during the 1970s. Kanang was known for his bravery and military expertise, and he became a legend among the Dayak community. After the insurgency was suppressed, Kanang surrendered and eventually became a member of the Malaysian Armed Forces, where he continued to serve his country until his retirement in 1986. He was awarded several military honors for his service, including the Pingat Gagah Berani (PGB) and the Panglima Gagah Berani (PGB) medal. Kanang was also a recipient of the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) award, one of Malaysia's highest honors, in 2012. He passed away in 2013 after suffering from liver disease.
