Karpal Singh

Karpal Singh (June 28, 1940 George Town-April 17, 2014 Perak) was a Malaysian politician and lawyer. He had five children, Gobind Singh Deo, Jagdeep Singh Deo, Mankarpal Singh Deo, Sangeet Kaur Deo and Ramkarpal Singh.

Karpal Singh was known as the "Tiger of Jelutong" for his fierce determination and advocacy for human rights and judicial independence. He was a founding member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and served as its chairman from 2004 to 2010. In his legal career, he was renowned for defending cases related to human rights violations, including the high-profile case of Anwar Ibrahim in 1998. Karpal Singh was also the first Sikh in Malaysia to be appointed to the Queen's Counsel, a prestigious title for outstanding lawyers. His legacy continues to inspire many in Malaysia to uphold justice and fight for human rights.

Tuanku Bahiyah

Tuanku Bahiyah (August 24, 1930 Seri Menanti-August 26, 2003 Alor Setar) was a Malaysian personality.

Tuanku Bahiyah was the 9th Raja Permaisuri Agong (Queen) of Malaysia, serving from 1970 to 1975 alongside her husband, the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King), Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah. She was also the Sultanah of Kedah from 1959 to 2017, making her the longest-serving queen of any state in Malaysia. Additionally, Tuanku Bahiyah was known for her philanthropic work, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare, and she also served as the chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia from 1984 until her death in 2003.
