Henny Skjønberg
Henny Skjønberg (August 6, 1886 Stavanger-January 5, 1973 Oslo) a.k.a. Henny Bucher Eide was a Norwegian actor, playwright and theatre director. Her children are called Espen Skjønberg and Pål Skjønberg.
Skjønberg began her acting career as a teenager, and trained at Max Reinhardt's drama school in Berlin. She rose to fame in the early 1920s as a leading actress with the National Theatre in Oslo, and went on to perform in over 100 productions throughout her career. Skjønberg was also an accomplished playwright, and wrote several plays that were produced on the Norwegian stage. In addition, she served as the director of the Riksteatret, Norway's national touring theatre company, from 1946 to 1956. Skjønberg was widely regarded as one of the most important figures in Norwegian theatre in the 20th century, and was awarded numerous honors and awards for her contributions to the arts.
