Dmitry Medvedev
Dmitry Medvedev (September 14, 1965 Saint Petersburg-) also known as Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev is a Russian politician, lawyer, businessperson, manager and actor. He has one child, Ilya Dmitrevich Medvedev.
Medvedev served as the third President of Russia from 2008 to 2012, and as Prime Minister of Russia from 2012 to 2020. He was handpicked by his predecessor, Vladimir Putin, to succeed him as president. During his presidency, he pursued modernization of the Russian economy, liberalization of some aspects of Russian society, and a more cooperative relationship with the West. He also oversaw Russia's brief war with Georgia in 2008.
Prior to his political career, Medvedev worked as a lawyer and taught law at his alma mater, Leningrad State University.
