Vladimir Ivashov

Vladimir Ivashov (August 28, 1939 Moscow-March 23, 1995 Moscow) a.k.a. Wladimir Iwaszow, Vladimir Sergeyevich Ivashov, V. Ivashov or Volodya Ivashov was a Russian actor, voice actor and film director. His children are Aleksei Ivashov and Oleg Ivashov.

Vladimir Ivashov is best known for his leading role in the Soviet-era war film "Ballad of a Soldier" (1959), directed by Grigoriy Chukhray. He won the Best Actor award at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival for his performance. Ivashov starred in several other notable films, including "The Dawns Here Are Quiet" (1972) and "The Cold Summer of 1953" (1987). He also worked as a voice actor, lending his voice to dubbed versions of American films such as "The Pink Panther" and "The Godfather". In addition to acting, Ivashov also directed several films, including "The Life and Extraordinary Adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin" (1994). He was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 1983. Ivashov passed away in Moscow in 1995 at the age of 55.
