Nina Koshetz hailed from a family of musicians and was trained in classical music from an early age. She gained initial recognition in Russia for her performances on the musical stage and as a concert soloist. During the First World War, she performed for troops on the front lines and later emigrated to the United States in 1920. In the U.S., she continued her operatic career and established herself as a prominent singer during the 1920s and 1930s. Koshetz performed frequently at the Metropolitan Opera and collaborated with renowned conductors such as Arturo Toscanini and Leopold Stokowski.
