Goh Sin Tub

Goh Sin Tub (December 2, 1927 Singapore-November 16, 2004 Singapore) also known as Sin Tub Goh was a Singaporean social worker, writer and teacher.

She was known as one of Singapore's most beloved writers and was best known for her works that focused on the daily life and struggles of Singaporeans. Goh Sin Tub was also a recipient of numerous awards for her contributions to literature, including the prestigious Southeast Asian Write Award in 1979. Aside from her writing, she was also a dedicated social worker and served as the President of the Singapore Children's Society. In recognition of her contributions to society, Goh Sin Tub was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1979 and the Public Service Star (BBM) in 1991. She remained an active member of Singapore's literary community until her passing in 2004.

During her lifetime, Goh Sin Tub wrote extensively on the themes of community, family, and social issues. Her most well-known works include "The Immolation", "The Last Quarter of the Moon", "The Elder Sister", and "Two Women". She was also a mentor and promoter of young writers in Singapore, instrumental in establishing the Creative Arts Programme in schools in the 1980s. Goh Sin Tub was a graduate of the University of Malaya and had a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.
