Karol Zachar (January 12, 1918 Svätý Anton-December 17, 2003 Bratislava) a.k.a. Karol Legény or Karol L. Zachar was a Slovak actor, film director, art director and costume designer.

Zachar began his career as an actor in the 1940s and went on to appear in more than 30 Slovak and Czech films. He later ventured into directing and produced 16 narrative feature films, documentaries, and television series. His notable films include "Jánošík", "The Outrageous Baron Munchausen", and "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders".

Apart from his work in film, Zachar also made significant contributions to theatre and television. He worked as an art director at the Slovak National Theatre and designed costumes for various productions. He also directed several episodes of the popular Slovak TV series "The Hospital on the Outskirts".
