He was born in Tortosa, Tarragona, Spain in 1914 and began his career in the film industry in the 1930s. Salvia worked on more than 30 films as a director, and wrote or co-wrote numerous screenplays. He often worked in the comedy genre, and some of his most popular films include "La Vida por Delante" (1949), "El Pobre Barba Azul" (1951), and "La Verbena de la Paloma" (1963). In addition to his work in film, Salvia was also a prominent figure in the Spanish theater scene. He died in Madrid in 1976 at the age of 61.
