Mercedes Prendes

Mercedes Prendes (November 17, 2014 Gijón-July 2, 1981 Madrid) was a Spanish actor.

She began her acting career in the 1930s and went on to star in numerous films and stage productions. Prendes gained critical acclaim for her role in the film "María de la O" and won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1958 for her performance in "La venganza." She also appeared in popular Spanish television series such as "Crónicas de un pueblo" and "Estudio 1." Prendes was known for her beauty, intelligence, and strong-willed personality. She was married to fellow actor Fernando Fernán Gómez and the couple had two children together. Prendes died in Madrid at the age of 66.
