Meral Okay

Meral Okay (September 20, 1959 Ankara-April 9, 2012 Istanbul) otherwise known as Meral Katı was a Turkish screenwriter, songwriter and actor.

She began her career as a songwriter in the 1980s, working with prominent Turkish musicians such as Sezen Aksu and Ajda Pekkan. In the 1990s, she transitioned to screenwriting and became known for her work on popular Turkish television dramas, including "Kurtlar Vadisi" and "Avrupa Yakası". Okay also acted in several films and television shows, including the 1999 film "Gemide", which was directed by her husband, Serdar Akar. In addition to her successful career in the entertainment industry, Okay was an advocate for animal rights and was actively involved in animal rescue efforts. She passed away in 2012 at the age of 52 due to pancreatic cancer.
