Manzoor Alam Beg

Manzoor Alam Beg (October 1, 1931 Rajshahi-April 5, 1998) was a Bangladeshi photographer.

He was also a film director, writer and producer, and is considered one of the pioneers of modern photography in Bangladesh. Beg started his career in the early 1950s as a photojournalist for the Dainik Azad and began producing documentaries in the 1960s. He founded the Eastern Photographic Society in 1963, and was a member of the Bangladesh Photographic Society. He directed several notable films including "Surja Dighal Bari" (1979) and "Dui Jibon" (1988), and authored several books on photography. Beg's work has been exhibited in numerous countries, including the United States, Russia, and Japan. He received several awards for his contributions to photography, including the Ekushey Padak in 1984 and the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for "Dui Jibon" in 1988.
