Semka Sokolović-Bertok

Semka Sokolović-Bertok (December 22, 1935 Sarajevo-March 4, 2008 Zagreb) also known as Semka Sokolovic, Semka Sokolovic Bertok, Semca Sokolic or S. Sokolovic was a Bosnian actor and professional chess player.

As an actor, Sokolović-Bertok appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout her career. She studied at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and made her professional acting debut in the film "The Birch Tree" in 1959. She went on to receive acclaim for her work in a number of films, including "The Rat Savior," "The Glembays," and "The End of the War." In addition to her acting career, Sokolović-Bertok was also a successful chess player, representing Yugoslavia in numerous international tournaments. She was a women's international master and was awarded the title of FIDE Master in 1991. Sokolović-Bertok passed away in Zagreb in 2008 at the age of 72.
