Alison Skipworth (July 25, 1863 London-July 5, 1952 New York City) also known as Alison Mary Elliott Margaret Groom, Skippy or Allison Skipworth was a British actor.

She began her acting career in England in the late 1800s before moving to the United States in the early 1900s. Skipworth quickly became a popular character actor in Hollywood during the 1920s and 1930s, appearing in over 70 films. She often played eccentric, humorous characters such as nosy matrons, housekeepers, and landladies. Some of her notable roles included Aunt Polly in "Tom Sawyer" (1930) and Mrs. Hargreave in "A Christmas Carol" (1938). She also appeared on Broadway in the 1920s and starred in several stage productions. Skipworth retired from acting in the late 1940s and passed away in 1952 at the age of 88.
