She began her acting career at the age of 17, with a small role in the film "Mädchen in Uniform" (Girls in Uniform) in 1931. She went on to star in over 80 films, including "Münchhausen" (1943), "Der Engel mit der Posaune" (The Angel with the Trumpet) (1948) and "Matto regiert" (Madness Rules) (1949).
