Jennifer Kendal (February 28, 1933 Southport-September 7, 1984 London) otherwise known as Jennifer Kapoor or Mrs. Jennifer Kapoor was an Indian actor and costume designer. She had three children, Sanjana Kapoor, Karan Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor.

Born in Southport, Lancashire, England, Jennifer Kendal moved to India in the 1950s after marrying her co-star from the Shakespeareana Theatre Company, Shashi Kapoor. She made her film debut in 1954 with the film "Dulha Dulhan". Kendal went on to act in several Hindi and English language films, including the Merchant Ivory Productions "Shakespeare Wallah" and "Bombay Talkie". She also worked as a costume designer for several of her husband's productions, such as "Junoon" and "Kalyug". Kendal co-founded with her husband the Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai, which continues to be a popular venue for theatre lovers. She passed away from cancer in 1984 at the age of 51, and is remembered as a talented actor known for her grace and elegance on screen.

Shamim Bano

Shamim Bano (November 27, 2014-November 27, 1984) a.k.a. Shamim or Shamim Bano Begum was an Indian actor.

She started her acting career in the 1940s and appeared in several successful films such as "Sneh Bandhan" (1940) and "Watan" (1944), among others. Shamim Bano was known for her versatility and ability to perform in a variety of roles.

Throughout her career, Shamim worked with many famous actors and directors, including Dilip Kumar, Prithviraj Kapoor, and Sohrab Modi. She also worked in a few Pakistani films, including "Pheray" (1949) and "Zeher-e-Ishq" (1958).

Shamim Bano received critical acclaim for her role in the film "Chandidas" (1934), which was one of the earliest Hindi films to receive international recognition. Despite her success, Shamim decided to retire from acting in the 1950s to focus on her family.

Prema

Prema also known as Prema or Prema Menon was an Indian actor. She had one child, Shobha.

Prema was born on 8th May 1935 in Peshawar, British India (present-day Pakistan). She started her acting career in 1954 with the Tamil film "Rajambal". She acted in over 100 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. Prema was known for her roles in films like "Naanum Oru Penn", "Madurai Veeran", "Manjal Mahimai", "Bale Pandiya", "Muthukkal Moondru" and many more.

Apart from acting, Prema was also a trained classical dancer and had performed on many stages throughout India. In 1966, she received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Tamil film "Kuzhanthaikkaga".

Prema was married to Malayalam film director, K. S. Sethumadhavan in 1965. She passed away on 6th May 2002 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu due to a heart attack.
