Joh Mizuki started his career in the entertainment industry when he was discovered by a talent scout at the age of 15. He went on to become one of Japan's most prominent actors in the 1950s and 60s, appearing in dozens of films and television shows. His breakthrough role came in the film "The Ballad of Narayama" (1958), which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
