He began his career in the 1980s and rose to prominence in the 1990s, appearing in numerous films and television shows. Some of his most notable works include the TV drama "Under One Roof" and the film "Maborosi," which was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda. Tanaka was also known for his extensive work as a voice actor, lending his talents to a number of anime series and video games.
