Hasan Doğan

Hrant Dink

Hrant Dink was born to an Armenian family in Malatya, Turkey. He moved to Istanbul at a young age and started his career as a journalist in 1976. In 1996, he founded the bilingual Turkish-Armenian newspaper Agos, which aimed to bridge the gap between the Turkish and Armenian communities.

Throughout his career, Dink was a prominent advocate for minority rights and reconciliation between Turkey and Armenia. He was known for his writings on Armenian identity and the Armenian Genocide, which had been a taboo topic in Turkey.

Dink was repeatedly targeted for his views and received death threats from nationalist groups. Despite this, he continued to speak out against discrimination and hate speech.
