Elsa Wagner (January 24, 1881 Tallinn-August 17, 1975 West Berlin) a.k.a. Elisabeth Karoline Auguste Wagner was a West German actor.

She began her acting career in 1903 at the age of 22 at the Schauspielhaus in Berlin. Throughout her career, Wagner appeared in over 80 films and numerous theater productions. Her most notable roles include playing the grandmother in the German TV series, "Die Buddenbrooks," and the role of Frau Møller in the film "Das Haus in Montevideo."

Despite being a successful actor, Wagner's life wasn't without its difficulties. During World War II, she experienced personal tragedy after her husband and son were killed. After the war, she played a small role in the rebuilding of German theater and film.

Throughout her long career, Elsa Wagner was widely regarded as one of the most respected actresses of her generation. In recognition of her contributions to German theater, she was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz, Germany's Order of Merit, in 1960.
