Celia Gámez

Celia Gámez (August 25, 1905 Buenos Aires-December 10, 1992 Buenos Aires) also known as Celia Gámez Carrasco was an Argentine actor.

She was a prominent figure in the Mexican and Spanish film industries during the 1930s and '40s, where she starred in a number of popular films such as "Tres Amores" and "Siboney". Gámez also pursued a successful career as a singer and dancer, performing in a variety of musical shows and revues both in Latin America and Europe. In addition to her entertainment career, Gámez was known for her activism in support of workers' rights and social justice causes. She was awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Arts by the Spanish government in 1980, in recognition of her contributions to the arts. Despite spending much of her life abroad, Gámez remained deeply connected to her Argentine roots and was an outspoken advocate for Argentine culture throughout her career.
