Bhanumati Devi

Bhanumati Devi (May 15, 1934 Myanmar-January 4, 2013 Puri) a.k.a. Bhanumati was an Indian actor. She had one child, Swarnalata Panda.

Born in Myanmar to Indian parents, Bhanumati made her debut in the Oriya film industry in 1957 with the film "Sri Lokanath". She went on to act in over 50 films across languages including Oriya, Bengali, Hindi and Telugu. Bhanumati received the Best Supporting Actress award at the National Film Awards for her performance in the film "Sansar Simante" in 1976. Besides acting, she was also actively involved in social work and was a member of the Indian Red Cross Society. She passed away in 2013 in Puri, Odisha at the age of 78.
