Avet Terterian

Avet Terterian (July 29, 1929 Baku-December 11, 1994 Yekaterinburg) a.k.a. Terterian, Avet, Alfred Roubenovich Terterian or Alfred Roubenovich Terteryan was an Armenian film score composer, composer and actor.

He is best known for his work in the genre of classical music, and is regarded as one of the most important composers of the 20th century in Armenia. Terterian began his music studies at the age of 14, and went on to study at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. His early works were heavily influenced by Armenian folk music, but he later incorporated elements of jazz, rock and electronic music into his compositions. He composed over 100 works in his lifetime, including several symphonies, chamber music pieces, and operas. In addition to his work in music, Terterian also appeared in several Armenian films as an actor. He passed away in 1994, but his legacy lives on as one of Armenia's most prominent cultural figures.
