Frederick Stafford (March 11, 1928 Czechoslovakia-July 28, 1979 Lugano) also known as Frederick Stanford or Friedrich Strobel von Stein was an Austrian actor. His child is Roderick Stafford.

He died as a result of aviation accident or incident.

Frederick Stafford began his career as a model in Paris and later transitioned to acting. He is best known for his roles as the leading man in two James Bond films, "Thunderball" and "From Russia with Love". Additionally, he appeared in numerous other films including "Topaz" and "The V.I.P.s".

Outside of his acting career, Stafford was also an accomplished pilot and owned his own plane. Tragically, his life was cut short when he died in a plane crash in the Swiss Alps in 1979. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
