She worked with prominent directors such as Fritz Lang and G.W. Pabst, and her notable films include "Spione" (1928), "M" (1931), and "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" (1933).
After the rise of Nazi Germany, Maurus moved to France and continued her career there, appearing in French films such as "La Grande Illusion" (1937) and "Les Disparus de Saint-Agil" (1938).
