Rashid Choudhury
Rashid Choudhury (April 1, 1932-December 12, 1986) was a Bangladeshi personality.
He was a film director, writer, and playwright who was known for his contributions to the Bangladeshi film industry. Choudhury began his career as a writer and eventually became a well-known playwright in the 1950s and 1960s. He made his directorial debut in 1974 with the film "Keranir Prem" and went on to direct several critically acclaimed films, including "Sujon Sokhi" and "Shesh Upohar." Choudhury was also involved in the theater scene and directed numerous plays, including adaptations of works by William Shakespeare and Bertolt Brecht. He was a recipient of the Bangla Academy Award and the Ekushey Padak, two of the highest honors in Bangladeshi culture. Despite his success, Choudhury's life was cut short when he was assassinated in 1986 by an unknown assailant.

Tareque Masud
Tareque Masud (December 6, 1956 Bhanga Upazila-August 13, 2011 Ghior Upazila) also known as Tareq Masud was a Bangladeshi film director, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist. His child is Nishad Bingham Putra Masud.
Tareque Masud was a prominent figure in the Bangladeshi film industry and was known for his dedication towards promoting the country's cinema on an international level. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Dhaka and went on to study film production in Moscow.
Tareque Masud's notable films include 'Muktir Gaan' (Song of Freedom), 'Matir Moina' (The Clay Bird) and 'Ontarjatra' (Inner Journey). His work garnered praise not only from his home country but also from international film festivals. In fact, 'Matir Moina' was the first-ever Bangladeshi film to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
In addition to his filmmaking accolades, Tareque Masud was also known for his activism on various social and cultural issues in Bangladesh. He was a vocal advocate for environmental protection, women's rights, and the preservation of Bangla language and culture.
Tragically, Tareque Masud's life was cut short in 2011 when he and his wife, American-born filmmaker Catherine Masud, were killed in a fatal car accident on their way to Dhaka from Manikganj. The accident was caused by a reckless bus driver, and the loss of both Tareque and Catherine Masud was mourned not only by the film industry but by the wider public in Bangladesh and the international community.
He died as a result of traffic collision.
