Jury Zacharanka

Jury Zacharanka (January 1, 1952 Vasilievičy-April 5, 1999) was a Belarusian politician.

He served as the Minister of Internal Affairs for Belarus from 1994 to 1995. Zacharanka was also a member of the opposition to President Alexander Lukashenko's regime and was involved in several investigations into human rights abuses and political repression in Belarus. In 1999, he went missing and was presumed dead. His disappearance is widely believed to have been a politically motivated kidnapping and murder orchestrated by the Belarusian authorities. Zacharanka became a symbol of the struggle for democratic reform and human rights in Belarus, and his legacy continues to inspire activists and advocates for freedom and justice in the country today.
