Predrag Golubović

Predrag Golubović (June 25, 1935 Sarajevo-July 18, 1994 Belgrade) a.k.a. Predrag Golubovic, Bernard Goldberg, Predrag Goluboviæ, Golub or Dragan was a Bosnian film director and screenwriter. He had one child, Srdan Golubovic.

Golubović began his career in film as an assistant director in the 1950s, working on notable Yugoslav films such as "When I Am Dead and Gone" and "Waltz". He went on to direct several feature films in the 1960s and 1970s, including "The Knife" and "The Awakening of the Rats", both of which were considered controversial due to their frank depictions of violence and sexuality.

Despite criticism from some quarters, Golubović's work was widely respected in the film industry, and he was considered one of the most innovative and daring filmmakers of his time. He received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Golden Arena for Best Director at the Pula Film Festival.

Golubović's career was cut short when he died in a car accident in Belgrade in 1994. His legacy lives on, however, through his son Srdan, who has become a noted filmmaker in his own right.
