Ellen Joyce Loo

Ellen Joyce Loo (March 27, 1986 Canada-) also known as 盧凱彤, 卢凯彤 or Loo, Ellen Joyce is a Canadian singer, singer-songwriter, musician and master of ceremonies.

She was born and raised in Toronto, Canada to a Portuguese mother and a Chinese father. Loo began her music career at the young age of 16, after moving to Hong Kong with her family. She initially gained recognition as a member of the Hong Kong pop band at17, but later rose to greater success as a solo artist.

Loo was known for her versatile vocal range and ability to play multiple musical instruments, including the guitar, piano, and ukulele. She released several albums throughout her career, including "Turning Point" (2005), "Loving You" (2006), and "Little Good Thing" (2009).

Aside from her music career, Loo was also known for her advocacy work as an LGBTQ+ rights activist in Hong Kong. She came out publicly as a lesbian in 2017 and used her platform to raise awareness and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Tragically, Loo passed away in August 2018 at the age of 32. Her death was mourned by fans across Asia and around the world, who remembered her as a talented musician and a champion of equality and acceptance.
