Alexandre Banza

Alexandre Banza (April 5, 2015 Carnot-April 12, 1969 Central African Republic) was a Central African military officer.

Banza began his military career in the French colonial army and later served in the Central African Republic's armed forces. He was appointed to several high-ranking positions within the military, including Chief of Staff of the army and Minister of Defense. Banza was known for his loyalty to President Boganda and his efforts to modernize the military. His assassination came during a period of political instability in the country, and his death was widely mourned by the public. The Alexandre Banza International Airport in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, was named in his honor.
