Mišík grew up in a musically inclined family and started playing guitar at the age of 15. In 1966, he co-founded the rock band The Matadors, which was one of the first groups to play psychedelic rock in Czechoslovakia. After the band disbanded in 1970, Mišík formed his own group, Etc..., which featured renowned Czech jazz musicians.
