He was a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi and the younger brother of the current Emir of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Ahmed bin Zayed was a prominent businessman and investor and played a significant role in the management of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth funds. He was the Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), which is one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds. Ahmed bin Zayed died at the age of 41 in a plane crash while on a private trip to Morocco. His death was widely mourned in the UAE and across the world, and he is remembered as a key figure in the development of Abu Dhabi's economy and global investment reach.
