Snitz Edwards

Snitz Edwards (January 1, 1868 Budapest-May 1, 1937 Los Angeles) also known as Edward Neumann was an American actor and theater performer. He had three children, Cricket Neumann, Evelyn Neumann and Marian Edwards.

Edwards began his career in vaudeville in the late 19th century and eventually made his way to Broadway, where he appeared in numerous productions such as "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "The Bat". He transitioned to film in the silent era, starring in many comedy and drama films during the 1910s and 1920s. Edwards was known for his distinctive appearance, often playing eccentric or comical characters.

Some of his notable film roles include appearances in the silent classics "The Kid" (with Charlie Chaplin), "Way Down East", and "The Freshman" as well as talkies such as "Holiday" and "Cimarron". Despite his success in film, Edwards continued to perform on stage throughout his career.

Edwards was married to his wife Nellie for 37 years until her death in 1929. He passed away in 1937 at the age of 69 due to a heart attack.
