Geeta Bali was born in Sargodha, which is now part of Pakistan, in 1930. She started acting at a young age, making her debut in the film industry with the film "Badnaami" in 1946. She gained recognition for her performance in the film "Baazi" in 1951, which marked the beginning of her successful career in Bollywood. She acted in many popular films such as "Jhanjar", "Basant", "Sohni Mahiwal" and "Albeli". Besides acting, Geeta Bali was also a talented dancer and singer. She won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the film "Vachan" in 1955. Geeta Bali was married to renowned Bollywood actor, producer, and director, Shammi Kapoor, in 1955.
