Ogden Nash
Ogden Nash (August 19, 1902 Town of Rye-March 19, 1971 Baltimore) a.k.a. Frederic Ogden Nash or Nash, Ogden was an American screenwriter, poet and lyricist. He had two children, Isabel Nash Eberstadt and Linell Nash Smith.
Nash is known for his witty and whimsical poetry, often making use of wordplay and imaginative rhymes. He wrote over 500 pieces of poetry, including the popular "The Cow," "The Panther," and "Custard the Dragon." Nash's work was featured in magazines such as The New Yorker and Harper's Magazine, and he also wrote for Broadway musicals and Hollywood films. One of his most famous works is the lyrics for the song "Speak Low" from the musical One Touch of Venus. Despite his success as a writer, Nash struggled with anxiety and depression throughout his life. He died at the age of 68 from complications related to Crohn's disease.
