Bimbo Danao was a veteran actor who started his acting career in the early 1940s. He appeared in more than 100 movies and television shows in the Philippines. Danao was known for his roles in action and drama films. One of his most notable performances was in the movie "Huk sa Bagong Pamumuhay" which tackled the Hukbalahap rebellion.

Aside from acting, Danao was also involved in the Philippine film industry as a producer and director. He produced films such as "Benguet Gold" and "The Game of Death". Danao also directed the movie "Ang Mahiwagang Daigdig ni Pedro Penduko".

He was born on January 21, 1938, in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. Lapid became popular during the 1970s and 1980s for his roles in action films, where he usually played a tough guy or a police officer. Before becoming an actor, Lapid also had a successful career as a professional boxer. Aside from acting, he also ventured into politics and served as a senator of the Philippines from 1992 to 2004. After his retirement from politics, Lapid returned to acting and continued to appear in films until his death on December 13, 2018, in Makati City, Philippines.
