Marya Delia Javier (May 27, 1933 Mindanao-November 10, 2005 Hollywood) also known as Maria Delia Javier or Marya Delia S. Javier was a Filipino set decorator and actor.
She began her career in the entertainment industry as a set decorator, and later appeared in a few films as an actor. She worked on numerous Hollywood productions, including "The China Syndrome" and "Die Hard".
Javier was the first Filipino to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, for her work on the film "The Color Purple" in 1985. She also received Emmy nominations for her work in television, including "The Tenth Month" and "The Jacksons: An American Dream".
Aside from her work in film and television, Javier was also an activist, advocating for the rights of Filipino workers in the United States. She was a founding member of the Filipino American Service Group, Inc.
Javier passed away in 2005 due to complications from cancer. She was remembered as a trailblazing Filipino artist and a tireless advocate for her community.
