Mia Backman (November 17, 1877 Janakkala-March 26, 1958 Helsinki) also known as Amanda Maria Backman was a Finnish actor.

She began her acting career in the early 1900s and appeared in over 50 films throughout her career. Backman was also a stage actress and performed in numerous plays in Finland. She was known for her versatility and ability to portray a wide range of characters. Backman was often cast in comedic roles and became a beloved figure in Finnish popular culture. In addition to her acting work, Backman was also involved in the production of films and was a co-founder of the film studio Suomi-Filmi in 1919. She was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Order of the White Rose of Finland for her contributions to Finnish culture in 1956, just two years before her death.
