Ramaz Chkhikvadze

Ramaz Chkhikvadze (February 28, 1928 Tbilisi-October 17, 2011 Tbilisi) also known as Ramaz Grigoryevich Chkhikvadze, R. Chkhikvadze, Ramaz Tchkhikvadze or Ramaz Chihvadze was a Georgian actor. His child is called Aleksandr Chkhikvadze.

Ramaz Chkhikvadze was a prolific actor and director, working in both film and theater throughout his career. He graduated from the Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University in 1951, after which he began working at the Georgian State Drama Theater. He made his film debut in 1956 with the movie "The Unlucky Ones", which was directed by his brother, Sergei Chkhikvadze. He went on to act in over 60 films, including "The Legend of Suram Fortress", "Pirosmani", and "The Eccentrics".

Chkhikvadze was also known for his stage work, and directed a number of plays at the Rustaveli Theatre. He was noted for his skill as a character actor, and for his ability to portray both comedic and dramatic roles with equal ease. In addition to his work in film and theater, Chkhikvadze was also a popular voice actor, lending his voice to a number of animated and live-action films.

Throughout his career, Chkhikvadze received a number of awards and honors for his contributions to Georgian cinema and theater. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of Honor by the President of Georgia for his lifetime achievements in the performing arts. He remained active in his work up until his death in 2011, at the age of 83.
