Regas began his acting career in the 1920s, appearing in both silent films and talkies. He often played character roles, portraying a variety of ethnicities including Greek, Arab, and Hispanic. Regas appeared in over 200 films during his career, including classics such as "Beau Geste" and "Gunga Din."

Despite his success in Hollywood, Regas was deeply proud of his Greek heritage and often used his platform to promote the country's culture and history. He was also an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church and worked to promote the church's charitable efforts.
