Sakall began his career in Hungarian and German films before making his way to Hollywood in the 1930s. He became known for his comedic roles, often portraying lovable and bumbling characters with his signature thick accent and bushy mustache. Some of his notable film appearances include "Casablanca," "Lullaby of Broadway," and "Christmas in Connecticut." In addition to his acting career, Sakall also wrote screenplays and served as a producer on a number of films. He was married to actress Ann Kardon and had one child.
