Turay was best known for her roles in Hungarian cinema during the 1930s and 1940s, often playing strong-willed female characters. She received critical acclaim for her role in the film "Felelet" (Answer) in 1935, and continued to act in films until the early 1980s. Turay was also involved in Hungarian theater, performing in both comedic and dramatic roles. Her contributions to Hungarian cinema were recognized with the prestigious Kossuth Prize in 1964.
